ABOUT  ME

Meet Ryan

My passion for photography began long before I ever owned a professional camera. As a kid, I rarely went anywhere without my trusty Fisher-Price camera in hand, fascinated by the world around me and eager to capture it. That childhood curiosity eventually grew into a lifelong calling.

Nature was my first classroom. I developed a deep appreciation for wildlife and the outdoors, leading me to earn a degree in Wildlife & Fisheries Management from West Virginia University. Wildlife photography quickly became my greatest passion because it allowed me to document the beauty of creation and share stories that often go unnoticed. It taught me patience, attention to detail, and the importance of waiting for authentic moments—qualities that continue to shape every photograph I create today.

Ironically, my career path wasn't built in a media classroom. It was forged through experiences serving people. I've worked as a Forest Ranger with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, spent summers as a camp counselor, and served as a construction manager on disaster relief mission teams rebuilding communities throughout the South. Those experiences taught me to lead calmly under pressure, communicate effectively, solve problems quickly, and genuinely care for the people around me.

Today, those same values guide every client experience.

Whether I'm documenting the joy and emotion of a wedding day, welcoming a newborn into the world, creating timeless portraits, or showcasing the craftsmanship of a luxury home, my goal is always the same: to tell your story with honesty, beauty, and purpose.

Over the past 18+ years, I've photographed more than 100 weddings, hundreds of portrait sessions, countless events, and a wide variety of commercial and real estate projects. While every session is different, my approach remains consistent. I believe the best photographs happen when people feel comfortable, confident, and free to simply be themselves. I strive to create an experience that is relaxed, enjoyable, and thoughtfully guided from beginning to end.

Outside of photography, I'm a husband, soon-to-be father, and proud Husky dad. My Christian faith is the foundation of my life and influences the way I serve every client—with integrity, humility, excellence, and genuine care. When I'm not behind the camera, you'll probably find me volunteering, exploring the outdoors, working on a construction project, or chasing after my dogs on a hiking trail.

Photography has given me the incredible privilege of preserving life's most meaningful moments, and I never take that responsibility lightly. These are the images your children, grandchildren, and generations beyond will one day look back on. They deserve to be captured with intention.

My philosophy is simple:

"Photographs should do more than look impressive—they should tell a story, preserve a legacy, and inspire action."

I'd be honored to tell yours.
